The Ferrari 430 Scuderia

is packed with Formula One hardware

The world’s newly mega-rich might climb into the latest – and arguably greatest – Ferrari and wonder what all the fuss is about. It’s been a while since I got into a £172,500 road car that didn’t have carpet. There’s no radio, sat nav or air-con. What gives? The main reason why this stripped Ferrari 430 costs £43,000 more than the standard model is because it packs a lot of serious Formula One hard- and software. The newly retired Michael Schumacher had time on his hands and was drafted in to finesse the 430. It has amazing aerodynamic properties (the rear diffuser and under-body bits generate major downforce, clamping the car to the road at high speed), titanium springs and wheel nuts, carbon ceramic brakes, and hollow front and rear anti-roll bars.
