As it passed its 38th year The Montreal International Auto Show is in close contour with the North American Auto Show. It is usually the first opportunity for most Canadians to see many of the new production and concept vehicles unveiled at recent Detroit and Los Angeles auto shows, plus some Canada-only cars. The 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, produced in Korea by its GM/Daewoo partnership was unveiled at the 2006 auto show and has become a popular vehicle in Montreal with today’s sky-rocketing gas prices. As well Pontiac also brought the much-anticipated convertible version of its G6. On the SUV side GM revealed their new Cadillac Escalade and Chevrolet Tahoe, available with V8 powertrain motors with cylinder deactivation to help save fuel. General Motors is also involved with, and presented the GMC Graphyte Hybrid Concept, which uses a two-mode hybrid similar to that which will be available in upcoming versions of the Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon. For the past 38 years Montreal has been at the forefront of Auto Shows and their innovations providing much needed information for Canadian Auto buyers. Check out the next edition to be awed by the future.
